A Brief Overview
Under minimal supervision, provides paralegal services to Global Legal Services ("GLS") attorneys and business clients involving complex matters, issues or projects with an emphasis on corporate, contract, legal technology and transactional matters. Responsible for meeting deadlines and monitoring time-sensitive filings and matters.
What you will do
- Collaborates with and supports GLS attorneys and business clients by providing high-quality, value-added and timely paralegal services involving complex matters, issues or projects; meets or exceeds reasonable client expectations and deadlines.
- Serves as a knowledge resource for clients, paralegals with less experience or knowledge, and other members of GLS.
- Assists, as assigned, in preparing and maintaining corporate records and other essential legal documents, while ensuring proper indexing and filing of various original legal documents; coordinates annual and special meetings, acting as secretary to ensure the accurate preparation and retention of meeting minutes for RGA entities; and assists with acquisitions, divestitures, entity formation, merger, wind-up, termination, etc.
- Assists, as assigned, in timely updating and maintaining various corporate governance resources for RGA entities, both electronic and paper-based.
- Maintains and updates imaging system for corporate documents and contracts, analyze and interpret contracts to determine appropriate workflow for legal and business review, as needed; assists with special projects and reporting to management and downstream users; regularly audits legal technology systems to ensure compliance with corporate standards and procedures; conducts legal reviews, as assigned; assists with implementation and maintenance of legal technology systems, training users and answering technical and procedural questions.
- Corresponds directly with business clients and legal reviewers, as needed, to resolve inconsistencies in workflow and procedures, taking proactive steps and corrective action when necessary or appropriate.
- Assists with examining and compiling business requirements and coordinating implementation of legal technology utilized by GLS ; assists with training users and answering technical and procedural questions; assists with reporting to management and downstream users; and acts as liaison with Information Technology to resolve and close technical issues.
- Maintains, updates, and provides improvements, as assigned, to GLS SharePoint sites.
- Assists, as needed, in due diligence process in connection with imaging database updates and business and finance transaction closings.
- Research and analyze complex legal issues and questions using sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions and regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) from accredited university or college or equivalent work experience Required
- 8+ Years experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal function Required
- State-of-the-art level of paralegal knowledge including processes, client needs, key business issues and drivers and application of best practices Required
- Demonstrated ability to support legal and business needs and analyze complex legal issues and develop solutions Required
- Highly advanced interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to positively influence change among clients and working groups. Required
- Expert ability in implementing change within an organization, ensuring understanding, participation, and ownership Required
- Highly advanced oral and written communication skills including presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to convey information in a way that is meaningful and well received by stakeholders and team members Required

- Certified Paralegal Required
- Experience in a global business enterprise with operations on various continents, time zones, legal systems, and cultures. Preferred
- Familiarity with contract management and review processes and systems Preferred
- National Certification, such as from NALA, NFPA, or another accredited national paralegal organization Preferred

Compensation Range:
$76,100.00 - $108,050.00 AnnualBase pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
