The Research Services Senior Analyst is an integral part of Latham’s Technology & Information Services team. This role will be responsible for providing legal and non‑legal research and analysis to attorneys and business services staff using a variety of research tools, while conducting complex legal and non‑legal research utilizing electronic and print research sources, and synthesizing and analyzing results for relevance and responsiveness to specific research requests. This role will be located in our Orange County office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring business, industry, and legal news sources for developments regarding clients, industries, and practice areas and utilizing aggregator platforms to assemble relevant results for distribution to attorneys and business services staff
- Promoting awareness and providing training on research platforms
- Sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues, and assisting with research staff professional development
- Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Possess advanced legal and non‑legal research knowledge and skills
- Demonstrate the ability to conduct effective training for attorneys, departmental colleagues, and other business services staff
- Exhibit advanced communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as a team player, manage time effectively, prioritize appropriately, and handle multiple deadlines
And have:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- A master’s degree or Juris Doctor (J.D.), preferably
- A minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience, preferably
- A minimum of six (6) years of cumulative experience
