
Martenson, Hasbrouck & Simon LLP (“MHS”) is a national law firm focusing on labor and employment defense and business litigation. Based in Atlanta, with additional offices in Carlsbad, Chicago, Dallas, New York, and Sacramento, MHS litigates labor and employment matters on behalf of all of its clients, including several national employers.
MHS is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, and proactive full-time Paralegal/Legal Assistant for our Dallas office. This position includes working directly with partners, associates, and other staff in various aspects of assigned cases. The ideal candidate has strong organizational, communication, and multi-tasking skills with high attention to detail.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing case files.
- Filing in both state and federal courts as well as administrative agencies.
- Drafting a wide variety of legal documents as well as summaries and case chronologies.
- Analyzing, reviewing, and organizing documents and data from materials produced during discovery, and preparing document production and responses to discovery requests.
- Conducting legal research of applicable case law, court rules, statutes, and ordinances through Westlaw, Pacer, and other search engines.
- Cite-checking and shepardizing and assisting with motion preparation.
- Proofreading legal documents and correspondence.
- Accurately and timely creating Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities.
- Corresponding with courts, clients, local counsel, and opposing counsel.
- Assisting in preparation for depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, and hearings.
- Tracking critical deadlines and maintaining case schedules, ensuring attorneys are informed of upcoming dates.
