General Counsel

Small, lean, PE backed operator seeking a General Counsel. The company is located in downtown Houston and will be an immediate hire.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the negotiation, document drafting, and legal closing operations for any transactions
• Serve as the senior legal adviser to the CEO
• Support development operations in South Texas, largely focusing on dispute resolution, production sharing agreements, acquisitions, divestitures, acreage trades, and complex operating and participation arrangement
• Work closely with the land department (ie.farm ins/outs, agreements, contracts, regulatory, title)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• JD required
• Upstream O&G experience
• 8+ years of relevant experience
