How You’ll Make an Impact
The position exists to advance the Bank’s organizational purpose by providing strategic leadership and operational oversight of Commercial Closing and Commercial Portfolio Management, ensuring that Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) credit relationships are executed and administered with accuracy, consistency, and sound risk discipline. By overseeing loan documentation, closing, boarding, post-closing requirements, financial reporting ticklers, maturities, annual reviews, covenant compliance, and credit file integrity, the role supports prudent growth, protects asset quality, enhances the client experience, and promotes compliance with the Bank’s credit standards and regulatory expectations. The position also serves as a key liaison among Credit, Lending, Loan Operations, outside counsel, and other business units to strengthen coordination, accountability, and timely decision-making throughout the credit life cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Risk Management, Control Environment & Regulatory Compliance: Direct the development and oversight of policies, procedures, controls, and monitoring practices designed to ensure regulatory compliance, collateral integrity, documentation accuracy, portfolio quality, timely remediation of audit findings, and effective management of operational and credit risk throughout the commercial loan lifecycle.
- Commercial Lending Administration Strategy & Governance: Provide strategic leadership for the Bank's Commercial Portfolio Management and Legal Documentation functions by establishing organizational structure, performance standards, risk governance, staffing models, and operating frameworks that support commercial lending growth while maintaining strong credit quality, regulatory compliance, and operational scalability.
- Executive Reporting, Process Optimization & Business Alignment: Partner with executive leadership to align portfolio administration, documentation, and loan servicing functions with the Bank's strategic objectives through management reporting, KPI oversight, technology enhancements, continuous process improvement initiatives, and recommendations that improve efficiency, client experience, and organizational capacity.
- Legal Documentation & Closing Administration: Oversee the preparation, review, execution, and administration of commercial loan documentation to ensure compliance with approved credit terms, legal requirements, collateral perfection standards, closing requirements, post-closing obligations, modifications, renewals, restructurings, and documentation exception resolution.
- Portfolio Management Oversight: Lead Portfolio Managers in the administration and monitoring of commercial relationships by ensuring timely gathering of financial documentation for the completion of upcoming annual reviews, covenant testing, borrowing base reviews, financial analyses, credit file maintenance, appraisal tracking, and identification and escalation of emerging portfolio risks.
- Tickler & Exception Management: Manage the Bank's commercial loan tickler and exception tracking programs by establishing monitoring processes, escalation protocols, reporting standards, and accountability measures related to financial reporting requirements, covenant compliance, tax documentation, UCC filings, collateral documentation, appraisals, and other loan-related obligations.
- Commercial Loan Lifecycle Administration: Ensure efficient administration of commercial loans from approval through maturity by coordinating transitions between lending, credit, legal documentation, portfolio management, loan operations, and other stakeholders; facilitating loan onboarding, servicing, renewals, modifications, extensions, and ongoing portfolio support while maintaining service quality and operational effectiveness.

Requirements
Required Education: Graduated Professional
Possible Degrees: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Paralegal Studies, or a related field preferred.

Required Years of Experience in Position: 5-8 Years
Languages: English and Spanish (Preferred)
Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Strong leadership and organizational management capabilities with a proven ability to direct teams and drive operational performance.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, project management, and technology skills to support business growth, process improvement, and sound commercial documentary and portfolio management governance.
- Advanced expertise in commercial lending, portfolio management, credit administration, and loan documentation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of risk management, regulatory compliance, collateral administration, and exception monitoring.
