Coordinator, Business & Legal Affairs
Blumhouse is looking for a coordinator to work across Business & Legal Affairs in our Film and TV divisions. This role will split its time between scheduling, administrative duties and legal duties with a primary focus on supporting the TV division. The role will report into the Head of Business & Legal Affairs (Film and TV).
Key Responsibilities
- Understand the day’s priorities and manage executive(s) schedules, phone calls, and travel appropriately
- Perform administrative duties and support day to day operations for the Business & Legal Affairs department
- Track status of negotiations from an offer to fully executed agreement
- Monitor production checklists for active projects and ensure that necessary documents are filed appropriately
- Draft deal memorandums, certificates, agreements, and other correspondence as requested
- Coordinate execution of approved documents, communicate and update status in system, and distribute documents as required
- Assist in monitoring dates of legal significance, such as options or expirations
Work on special projects and perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience required
- J.D. preferred
- 1 year of administrative experience required
- Legal experience preferred
- Entertainment experience in-house, at a law firm, management company and/or agency preferred
- Ability to read and interpret legal contracts
- Proficiency with Google Drive and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, anticipation of executive needs and thorough follow-up
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Significant level of discretion due to exposure to confidential information and high-profile individuals
- Desire to be a team player and work with many different departments of a growing media company
