The primary purpose of this position is to provide legal advice and counsel in broad areas of acquisition and fiscal law in support of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) in general and the Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (SOF AT&L) in particular.
Duties
Reviews contract formation and administration documents and issues for solicitations, amendments, awards and modifications for legal sufficiency and sound business judgment, requiring expertise, sound judgment, and mature legal skills. Serves as fiscal law advisor to the Activity on issues regarding the proper obligation and expenditure of funds relating to contractual issues. Renders legal advice and counsel regarding contractual rights and obligations that might become future disputes and litigation. Reviews requests for information, which are generally acquisition related, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy Act, congressional inquiries and other requests. Ensures compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: You MUST have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have the first professional law degree (LLB or JD). Skill in drafting legal memoranda, opinions and other documents. 5. Ability to explain options and varying provisions of procurement and fiscal laws, directives, regulations and instructions as they apply to individual procurements. 6. Ability to assess litigation risks and recommend actions to limit Command/Activity to successful challenge. Education
Must be a graduate of a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, and be currently licensed as an attorney, in active (or equivalent) status and in good standing, with the bar of a U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth. The attorney must maintain such bar membership in at least one jurisdiction during the entire course of employment with the Air Force.
