Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Toledo, Ohio office. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing insight, knowledge, and support to our attorneys across both general defense litigation and medical malpractice cases. This is a permanent position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assisting attorneys who specialize in defense litigation and medical malpractice.
  • Scheduling calls, conferences, mediation, and other events.
  • E-filing court documents with county, state, and federal court systems.
  • Scanning and saving documents to document management system.
  • Organizing and assembling files for new matters.
  • Submitting invoices for payments.
  • Answering phones.
  • Managing attorneys' calendars.

 

   Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a role as a legal administrative assistant (Experience in Medical Malpractice is desired)
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology, litigation process, and medical record organization.
  • Proficient to Excellent in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Adaptability, willingness to learn, and ability to work as a productive member of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and written, with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to quickly learn proprietary software systems and databases.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.

 

This position is for our Toledo, Oh office.  Hours are generally 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Monday through Friday), but additional hours could be required as necessary.
