Duties WHAT IS THE TAXPAYER SERVICES DIVISION? A description of the business units can be found at: https://www.jobs.irs.gov/about/who/business-divisions Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas: Taxpayer Services Service Centers Austin Submission Processing Taxpayer Services Service Centers Kansas City Submission Processing Taxpayer Services Service Centers Ogden Submission Processing The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. Researches a variety of sources, analyzes, and initiates actions on tax issues obtaining applicable returns, schedules, and all required information for correction of accounts and records; verifies, analyzes and adjusts taxpayer accounts. Review returns submitted by taxpayers for the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Additional Child Tax Credit, American Opportunity Credit and other various credits. Identifies Statute returns for expedited processing. Secures payment of taxes and filing of returns. Determines financial, levy source, adjustment and uncollectible information; advises taxpayers of appeal procedures. May serve as a technical advisor, OJT coach, classroom instructor, or reviewer, and provide technical assistance on systemic problems and inconsistencies in IRMs. This position has career progression. If you are selected at a grade level lower than the full working level, you may be non-competitively promoted as your career progresses. For example, you may be hired as a GS-05, but if the position has career progression to GS-11, then you may move from a GS-05 to a GS-11 in as little as three years. Salary- $36,049 - $60,087/year
