Studio Distribution Services (SDS) is a joint venture between Warner Bros. and Universal Pictures. We are the leading distributor for the entertainment industry, responsible for the Sales, Retail Marketing and Supply Chain of home entertainment products for both studios.

We manage sales and distribution of new release and library content of both film and television for a wide range of famous labels, including Universal Pictures, Warner Bros., Legendary Entertainment, Focus Features, HBO, DreamWorks Animation and Illumination Entertainment.

The hourly rate is $25/hour

Role Summary:
This is a unique opportunity to develop as a versatile legal practitioner with the skills, knowledge and perspective to thrive in an in-house environment. The SDS Legal Department consists of two attorneys who oversee all aspects of legal affairs and compliance for the company. As our summer legal intern, you can explore your professional interests by assisting with contract management, agreement review, legal research, compliance initiatives and corporate affairs across the joint venture. This internship offers mentorship from experienced professionals in the industry and a holistic view of business operations needed for a well-rounded legal education.

Essential Responsibilities:

·         Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·         Support key compliance programs, including projects related to annual employee training and other regulatory activities.

·         Contribute to Legal’s responsible AI initiatives, including department-level projects focused on integrating AI into legal workflows and developing practical guidance aligned with the company’s AI policy.

·         Assist with contract review and drafting (e.g., nondisclosure agreements).

·         Update and standardize agreement templates and addenda, and support document organization and management as needed.

·         Conduct targeted legal research on issues affecting the business and complete a structured, summer-long legal study project aligned with department priorities, culminating in a summary presentation to internal stakeholders with your recommendations.

·         With guidance from the team, explore and apply approved AI tools relevant to the role, responsibly integrating AI to enhance efficiency and reimagine the way we work.

All interns will also be required to present their project and associated work to their department and/or all of SDS.
