The following are the duties of this position at the full working level:
- Distributes and balances the workload among employees in accordance with established work flow or job specialization, assures timely accomplishment of the assigned workload, and assure that each employee has enough work to keep busy.
- Keeps in touch with the status and progress of work, and makes day-to-day adjustments in accordance with established priorities, obtaining assistance from the supervisor on problems that may arise, such as backlogs that cannot be disposed of promptly.
- Estimates and reports on expected time of completion of work, and maintain records of work accomplishments and time expended and prepares production reports as requested.
- Instructs employees in specific tasks and job techniques and makes available written instructions, reference materials, and supplies.

- Telework Eligible Positions: Telework eligible positions do not guarantee telework. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-08 LEVEL: You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience using the AUR Automated systems to determine if the discrepant income or deduction(s) in question are satisfactorily identified on the tax return, working/adjusting individual and/or business accounts, applying tax laws, regulations, practices, tax forms, notices, bills, and other documents relative to this position. Experience identifying the nature and scope of problems or issues that occur during the AUR case processing; make appropriate adjustments to accounts, and advise the taxpayer of options available for meeting tax obligations. Experience with the AUR Automated system to identify errors in cases worked, and explaining the corrections needed using ORCAs, on-line systems, research materials, technology and tools to resolve taxpayer's inquiries/issues.

MEET TIME IN GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT: You must meet applicable TIG requirements to be considered eligible. To meet TIG for positions above the GS-05 grade level, you must have served at least one year (52 weeks) at the next lower grade (or equivalent) in the normal line of progression for the position you are applying to. Advancement to positions up to GS-05 is permitted if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade held within the preceding 52 weeks.

- Tour of Duty: Monday - Friday.; Day Shift - Start and stop times between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.; Mid Shift - Start and stop times between 10:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.; Swing Shift - Start and stop times between 2:00 p.m. and 1:30 a.m.; TOD to be determined at time of selection.
- Alternative work schedule, staggered work hours or telework may be available.
- In the event that a building is closed due to rent management, new hires may be placed in a local commuting location.
- Relocation expenses - Not covered.
