The Legal Assistant position requires a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, be adaptable, and a great attitude. Job Descriptions: The Legal Assistant will be responsible for working with a team of legal professionals to perform duties including, but not limited to
- Assist Paralegal in preparing documents such as motions, notices, summary judgment packages, affidavits and electronically file pleadings via Florida court’s E-Filing Portal
- Maintain and update file status via client portal
- Schedule and coordinate attorney calendars, client meetings, court hearings, and other appointments.
- Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals.
- Support billing processes, including entering time/costs into firm’s case management system
- Provide general administrative support, including scanning, copying, mailing, and file maintenance, as needed.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Must have experience E-filing on the State e-Portal system
- Experience working in a law office setting (Creditor’s Rights experience is a plus, but not required)
- Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office products
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
- Ability to accurately maintain files and a calendaring system
- Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent attention to detail, the ability to handle a high volume workload in a fast paced environment
- Must be a team player and willing to help others in their department when needed
Compensation:
Compensation package includes partial employer paid health insurance for employee, 3 weeks PTO, and salary commensurate with experience.
