This firm is currently seeking a full-time, remote Lead Civil Litigation Attorney in the State of Florida.

 

Only individuals with a valid Florida law license in good standing and who are located in Florida are currently being considered for this position.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Division Lead: Manage and oversee the civil litigation team, including attorneys and paralegals, while tracking team billable hours and ensuring client accounts maintain sufficient funds for billing. Provide strategic direction on case management and legal strategy, monitor court deadlines and firm process timelines to ensure compliance, facilitate effective client communication and case updates, and answer legal and procedural questions from team members to drive efficient case progress.
  • Case Oversight & Team Development: Monitor the progress of all civil litigation cases, ensuring that attorneys and paralegals meet key deadlines, maintain case momentum, and adhere to firm strategy. Hold regular roundtables to discuss case strategy, schedule progress meetings with team members, and track hearings, deadlines, and case outcomes. Ensure timely client communications and maintain high standards of efficiency and accuracy within the division.
  • Selective Legal Representation: While the primary focus is on overseeing the litigation team, the Lead Civil Litigation Attorney will handle a select number of high-impact cases, providing direct representation in key matters where strategic guidance is essential.
  • Strategic Leadership & Process Improvement: Continuously refine case management processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and client satisfaction. Work closely with firm leadership to assess the division’s needs, mentor attorneys, and implement best practices that strengthen litigation outcomes.
  • Court Oversight & Advocacy: Track and ensure the firm’s attorneys are prepared for critical legal proceedings, including depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. Provide guidance on motions practice, legal arguments, and settlement negotiations while ensuring the litigation team is equipped with the necessary resources and strategies to succeed.

This role is designed for a highly organized, strategic, and experienced attorney who thrives in a leadership position and is dedicated to overseeing and elevating the performance of the civil litigation team.

 

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive Litigation Management: A minimum of 5 years of general civil litigation experience to include handling of real estate matters and first chair on a minimum of 3 civil trials. This prior experience should include drafting pleadings and discovery, attending hearings and depositions, and developing case strategy to ensure efficient and effective progression of civil litigation cases.
  • Leadership & Management Experience:  The ideal candidate will have prior leadership or management experience, demonstrating the ability to mentor and guide attorneys and paralegals while maintaining a high-functioning litigation division.  The Lead Civil Litigation Attorney will play a key role in fostering a collaborative and results-driven team environment.
  • In-depth Knowledge of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure: A strong understanding of the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, ensuring compliance and strategic advantage in all phases of litigation.
  • Dispute Resolution Skills: Experience in managing and resolving legal disputes in a variety of settings, including settlement negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. The ability to employ strategic negotiation techniques and legal insight to help litigation team secure favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Strategic Legal Thinking: Ability to help civil litigation team develop and implement case-specific legal strategies tailored to the unique circumstances of each client, ensuring the best possible advocacy and outcomes in both plaintiff and defendant representations across a diverse range of legal disputes.
  • Active Florida Bar Membership: Must possess a current license to practice law in the State of Florida, demonstrating a commitment to upholding the highest standards of legal practice within the jurisdiction.
