The Opportunity
A boutique law firm in midtown Manhattan seeks Associate Attorney to join their personal injury practice. This is an onsite, full-time permanent position. Compensation is $90k-$110K with employer paid medical benefits.
Primary Duties
Responsible for representing clients who have been injured in a wide range of accidents. The attorney will handle legal cases from start to finish, including investigation, litigation, negotiation, and settlement. The role requires strong legal knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a caseload effectively. Additional duties include the following:
- Provide legal representation to clients in personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, workers’ compensation, products and premises liability.
- Analyze and evaluate case facts, evidence, and medical records to determine the best course of action for clients.
- Handle personal injury cases, from initial client intake through case resolution, ensuring exceptional client service throughout the process.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
- Regular court appearances in the five boroughs, Long Island and Westchester.
- Prepare and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials as needed.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys in the firm on case strategies and legal research.
- Provide regular updates to clients and assist with case settlements and negotiations.
- Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met and clients’ needs are addressed.
Requirements:
- At least 2-3 years of experience in plaintiff’s or defendant’s personal injury litigation.
- Admitted to the New York State Bar.
- Substantive writing sample required.
