Job Description:
The job is responsible for providing strategic and sophisticated legal guidance while working under the supervision of an attorney. This job requires strong decision-making and sound judgment. Key responsibilities include drafting legal guidance and court filings in collaboration with internal and external counsels and conducting research and analyzing data.
This candidate will provide documentation support for the Global Commercial Bank, Business Banking, Small Business, Practice Solutions and Global Wealth Investment Management through their document preparation teams as well as internal counsel. Will Assist in the development, maintenance and programming of the bank’s proprietary commercial loan forms (known as Hotdocs) used for single bank deals. Act as primary manager of the IntraLinks exchange which involves granting and removing access for outside counsel at the direction of internal counsel. On a regular basis attend IntraLinks remediation conference calls as well as external calls with the vendor and internal calls with other teams using IntraLinks. Revise, update and modify forms as directed by internal legal. Participate in projects and workgroups to identify and resolve issues related to the implementation of new commercial loan products; prepare job aids/workarounds used by the document preparers for the business units to update and amend the forms in partnership with internal legal.
Candidate will also conduct document reviews such a trust agreements, confidentiality agreements and conflict waiver for adherence to bank policy. Regularly uses discretion and independent judgment in matters of consequence to the Bank and its clients. Interacts with Outside Counsel and LOB/ECF clients with minimal supervision. May hold authority to settle litigation up to documented thresholds. Recognized as a subject matter expert within their practice group. Trains junior paralegals in area of specialty as needed. Evaluates laws, rules and regulations and provides concise written analysis to attorneys. Researches relevant facts and case law to inform legal support for internal projects. Offers practical and succinct legal guidance for clients under attorney supervision

Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years as a paralegal at a law firm or in-house. Requires four year degree or paralegal degree/certificate or relevant business experience.
Minimum Education Requirement: High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent
