As we continue to expand our presence in the market, we are seeking a paralegal to join our team.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Paralegal position is an integral part of our legal team. The person in this role provides comprehensive support to our legal department across various functions, ensuring strict adherence to legal standards and contributing significantly to the seamless operation of our business. This pivotal role is instrumental in scaling our contracting processes and ensuring compliance with all agreements. The ideal paralegal has experience in corporate legal settings, strong organizational skills, and a good understanding of software contracting processes and terminology. The Paralegal role reports directly to our General Counsel, working closely to uphold the highest standards of legal integrity and operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Contract and Agreement Management:
- Track the status of contracts and agreements, ensuring timely renewals and following up on outstanding items.
- Review and provide redlines for standard contracts and agreements under attorney supervision.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary information for contract preparation and execution.
Administrative Support for Legal Team:
- Assist in organizing workflow, managing and performing contracting tasks and general administrative duties, organizing meetings, and maintaining the schedule of tasks for the legal team.
- Coordinate with internal teams for legal reviews, approvals, and other requests.
- Handle communications and act as a liaison between the legal department, clients, and internal teams.
Document Management and Preparation:
- Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents such as contracts, NDAs, MOUs, RFPs, and internal company policies.
- Organize and manage digital and physical files, ensuring proper document storage and confidentiality.
- Maintain and update contract templates, legal forms, and corporate records.
- Define and manage a scalable contract compliance tracking system to enable adherence to contract provisions across all clients.
Legal Research and Compliance Support:
- Conduct legal research on various state statutes, regulations, and industry compliance standards.
- Perform research and draft initial templates of Privacy Policy’s, Terms of Use, SLAs, and other standard legal documents.
- Assist in gathering information and preparing reports for internal compliance audits.
Client and Vendor Communication:
- Handle inquiries from internal departments regarding legal and compliance matters.
- Communicate with clients and external vendors to gather required information and documentation.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Associate’s degree in paralegal studies or related field
- 2+ years of experience as a legal assistant, ideally in a corporate or in-house setting
- Knowledge of software industry contracting process, terminology, and business
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in Higher-Ed
- Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or equivalent
- Training in Sales Management
- Legal research tools and planning software familiarity
