The purpose of this job is to address legal matters across business verticals and subject matter areas while maintaining close communication with colleagues to ensure an integrated, consistent approach to corporate legal services enterprise wide.
- Draft, review and negotiate high volume of various legal/commercial contracts and licenses (initial focus on technology)
- Research regulatory issues as needs arise
- Provide analysis and assistance in resolving customer issues
- Resolve disputes with vendors, suppliers, contractors, subcontractors, and other business partners
- Provide legal support for retail operations functions
- Advise stakeholders and other in-house attorneys on appropriate course of action regarding contracts, regulatory requirements, and other superseding conditions
- Add and maintain content within contract lifecycle management system
- Perform legal research for specific state and federal regulations
- Identify areas of potential legal risk and develop strategies to address them
- Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders and clients on legal matters
- Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
- Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Complete other duties as assigned
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited college or university required
- License to practice law in the state of Tennessee or registration with the Tennessee Board of Law Examiners, if not licensed in the state of Tennessee, required
- Minimum one year’s prior experience working in a law firm or other corporate legal setting required; three years’ experience preferred
- Knowledge of general business and contract law
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Critical thinking and ability to proactively identify potential problems and mitigate existing issues
- Legal research capabilities with attention to detail
- Positive attitude and high EQ. No job is too big or too small
- Excellent writing, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to demonstrate confidence, professionalism and assertiveness in complex and challenging circumstances
