Full Job Description
Meldon Law is a plaintiff-side personal injury law firm with offices located throughout the state of Florida. We represent injured people against insurance companies and other defendants. We're hiring an experienced case manager to own the day to day handling of our pre-litigation files - keeping cases moving from intake through demand and settlement.
 
This is a law firm role. It is not a medical, nursing, insurance or social-work case management position. Please read the responsibilities below before applying.
 
Essential Functions
Case Management:
  • Oversee the progression of legal cases from intake through settlement, ensuring adherence to procedures and deadlines
  • Order, track and follow up on medical records and bills; build treatment chronologies
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients - return calls promptly, keep them informed, ensuring client satisfaction throughout the case lifecycle
  • Prepare and assemble demand packages and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate with medical providers, adjusters, and lien holders
  • Keep our case management system accurate and current
  • Hand off complete and thorough files to our litigation department when necessary
  • Adhere to all legal and ethical standards regarding client confidentiality and information handling

Supervisory Responsibilities
The Case Manager will oversee the Legal Assistant assigned to them. This includes providing guidance on case management tasks, delegating responsibilities, and ensuring that all team members are effectively contributing to the case's progression. The Case Manager will monitor performance, offer support as needed and ensure that the Legal Assistant maintains high standards of accuracy, efficiency and client communication. Additionally, the Case Manager will be responsible for coordinating workflow, addressing any issues that arise within the team, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
 
Work Environment
The work environment is a standard office setting that includes a moderate level of noise from phones, conversations, and office equipment. Employees are expected to work at a desk or workstation for extended periods, using computers and other office equipment. The environment is designed to promote collaboration and communication while ensuring comfort and accessibility for all employees.
 
Work Authorization
All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future and must provide proof of their authorization to work.
 
What We're Looking For
  • Degree preferred but not required with equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience at a plaintiff-side personal injury law firm
  • Knowledge of Florida insurance law
  • Solid grasp of the pre-litigation file lifecycle (treatment, records, demands, negotiation)
  • Excellent client communication - patient, responsive and professional on the phone
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and case management software
