Job Description

Location: Mechanicsburg, PA- Relocation assistance is available (ONSITE) Position: Employment AttorneySchedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM (Full-Time) Who We Are: West Shore Home is a technology-driven and industry-leading home improvement company specializing in high-quality and convenient remodels of Bathrooms, Flooring, Windows, and Doors. Purpose of Position: As West Shore Home’s in-house Employment Attorney, you will serve as a subject matter expert regarding employment-related matters, handle various types of employment-related disputes, draft employment related policies and procedures, amongst other Legal responsibilities. Key Role Accountabilities: Identify and assesses legal risks and opportunities within the employment area and advise accordingly to ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, rules, regulations, and policies. Provide counsel and advice on employment related matters, including but not limited to employee relations issues; discipline and terminations; FMLA, ADA, and PWFA leave and accommodation requests; wage and hour laws; leave and sick laws; workers’ compensation, unemployment compensation, and other claims; compensation plans; employee benefits; job postings; offers of employment; employment agreements; separation agreements; and other matters related to the onboarding and offboarding of employees.   Handle and/or participate in employment related proceedings, hearings, litigation, mediations, and arbitrations, including handling the responses to subpoenas and other document requests. Minimum Requirements: Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. The company does not and will not sponsor employment visas. JD degree from an accredited law school. Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and in good standing or admitted to practice within a reciprocity state and in good standing. Minimum of 7 years substantive employment experience with a corporate legal department or law firm handling employment matters before federal courts, state courts, and administrative agencies.
