Job Description

Overview

Western Dental Services, Inc., California’s largest dental services provider and one of the nation’s largest dental HMO’s, is looking for a bright, motivated individual to join its Legal Department.  This position requires at least 2 years of experience in a legal corporate environment. Western Dental’s team consists of over 4,400 professionals and nonclinical team members at Western Dental’s corporate headquarters in Orange, California and more than 300 dental clinic locations.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with all Legal Department Functions.
  • Assist with drafting and revising miscellaneous agreements and documents.
  • Assist Corporate Secretary with corporate maintenance and Board materials.
  • Assist with corporate governance/maintenance for Western Dental, its affiliates and the PCs of its affiliated dental practices.
  • Coordinate and assist with Insurance Policy Renewal and Amendment Process.
  • Prepare and file notices, registrations, and annual reports.
  • Create and maintain Legal Department files.
  • Assist with request for records.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal certificate preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a corporate legal department, law firm or similar environment
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage time effectively for self and other team members
  • Detail oriented
  • Flexible and resilient
  • Ability to plan and manage projects from inception to completion
  • Superior verbal, written and overall communication skills
  • Effectively collaborates with a variety of people and job functions, with an ability to juggle and accomplish multiple tasks of varying priorities, complexity and scope
  • Demonstrates strong business judgment, professional etiquette and organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with all levels of management within organizational hierarchy
  • Understands legal concepts and terminology
  • Can work independently and in a team environment
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel
