We are currently seeking a Legal Director to lead our immigration legal team. This role includes overseeing case quality, mentoring attorneys and paralegals, managing caseloads, ensuring accountability, and shaping firm strategy. We’re looking for a strong leader with deep immigration law expertise and a passion for guiding teams to excellence. 



The Legal Director will oversee the quality, performance, and development of the legal team by ensuring legal excellence, accountability, and strategic growth. This role involves:

  • Legal Supervision & Quality Control: Assigning cases strategically, reviewing complex filings, conducting regular audits, and ensuring timely, compliant submissions.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Providing legal guidance, coaching, and support to attorneys and paralegals; leading team meetings and onboarding new legal staff.
  • Case & Operational Oversight: Monitoring attorney caseloads (max 50 active cases), coordinating assignments, and partnering with operations and retention teams on case flow and deadlines.
  • Internal Accountability: Participating in performance reviews, tracking error trends, and escalating underperformance or systemic legal concerns.
  • Policy & Strategy Development: Refining internal procedures, staying current with immigration law, and contributing to strategic litigation and appeals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to attorneys and paralegals.
  • Review and approve legal filings to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance.
  • Assign cases strategically based on team capacity and legal specialization.
  • Manage a personal caseload of no more than 50 active cases.
  • Lead legal team meetings, provide performance feedback, and promote accountability.
  • Partner with senior leadership on legal strategy, policy development, and training initiatives.


Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. state.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and managing legal teams.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and litigation skills.
