Associate Counsel

A growing manufacturing company is seeking an experienced and business-minded Associate Counsel to support the General Counsel with contracts, compliance, employment-related matters, risk management, and general legal guidance. This is a hands-on role with meaningful ownership and exposure across the business, working closely with internal teams to provide practical legal support and help the company navigate day-to-day legal and operational matters.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including equipment purchases, SaaS agreements, professional services agreements, leases, and other business contracts.

• Provide practical legal guidance to internal teams regarding contracts, employment matters, compliance, operational decisions, and potential legal risks.

• Support regulatory compliance, corporate governance, internal investigations, and development and implementation of company policies.

• Identify and help mitigate legal and business risks, manage contract workflows, and coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside counsel as needed.

Skills

• Strong contract drafting, review, and negotiation skills with excellent attention to detail.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with sound legal judgment.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with Sales, Operations, HR, Finance, and other departments.

• Highly organized, resourceful, and able to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

• Active bar admission in good standing.

• 2–6 years of experience in transactional, commercial, or corporate law, either in-house or at a law firm.

• Experience handling commercial contracts, compliance, risk management, or employment-related legal matters.

• Ability to work independently and make practical, business-oriented decisions without heavy oversight.

• Comfortable balancing legal risk with business needs and operating in a hands-on environment.
