Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant

Our Houston office is growing, and we are seeking a Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join our team supporting complex litigation matters. This hybrid role combines substantive litigation support responsibilities with high-level legal administrative support in a fast-paced trial practice.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable managing both litigation tasks and day-to-day case support responsibilities. This position works closely with attorneys and litigation teams to help cases move efficiently from inception through trial.
This is an on-site in-office position, Monday through Friday, located in the Galleria area of Houston.
Responsibilities
- Support attorneys and litigation teams through all phases of litigation
- Prepare, revise, organize, and file legal documents in state and federal courts
- Manage court deadlines, calendaring, scheduling, and case logistics
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files
- Assist with discovery, document productions, exhibit preparation, and trial preparation
- Coordinate deposition materials, hearing binders, and trial support materials
- Handle document management and e-discovery organization
- Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, court personnel, and vendors
- Assist with administrative and case support functions necessary to keep matters moving efficiently
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or certificate in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field required
Experience
- Several years of litigation experience with familiarity throughout the litigation process, from case initiation through post-trial procedures
- Experience in product liability and/or civil litigation is highly desired
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of litigation procedures, including court rules, filing requirements, deadlines, and case management
- Familiarity with both the Texas state and federal court systems
- Ability to draft and format a wide range of legal documents, including motions, discovery requests, and trial documents
- Experience with document collection, review, and production
- Experience preparing, serving, and tracking subpoenas
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including communication with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and attorneys
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage case files, calendars, deadlines, and detailed legal documentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with document management systems such as iManage
- Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, evolving legal processes, and new technology in a litigation environment
