Qualifications
The Paralegal 3 serves as the Contract Management administrator and is responsible for providing support to the Legal Services Department of the FMOL Health System including all subsidiaries under the oversight of FMOL Health System lawyers.
Responsibilities
1. Provides Legal Support
- Coordinates contract requests including communications with outside counsel as needed.
- Reviews and drafts contracts including, but not limited to, physician contracts, contracts for sale and lease of property, consultant contracts, service contracts, confidentiality contracts and other contracts as requested.
- Drafts legal documents with attorney oversight.
- Assists with review and analysis of medical staff issues including, but not limited to, peer review, bylaws and companion documents as requested.
- Understands statutory, regulatory and case law on a range of issues including, but not limited to, contractual agreements, employment issues, regulatory issues, corporate matters, medical staff issues, policies and procedures, reimbursement issues and other issues as needed.
- Oversees the use of the Contract Management databases including ensuring all contracts in the organization are properly included and documented.
- Responsible for day-to-day training for Contract Management databases users and/or coordination of more extensive training as required.
- Communicates with all appropriate business team members on contract requests presented to Legal Services Department.
- Supports and participates in the continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of services provided including developing and implementing procedures regarding Contract Management databases.
2. Other Duties
- Attends meetings as required and performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
- 5 yrs transactional based experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal certification or equivalent experience
- Strong communication, organization and computer skills as well as the ability and initiative to perform duties with consistently high levels of competency, accuracy and sound judgment.
- Ability to work independently without immediate supervision and deal tactfully with external and internal customers and all System personnel. Ability to synthesize and evaluate data.
- Superior organizational skills.
- Very detail oriented.
