Duties
Responsible for the maintenance, repair, diagnosis and overhaul of components and systems including gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, electrical systems, electronics equipment, and other related assemblies. Must be able to provide technical advice and training to garage foremen from various field locations who accompany their bus to the National Bus Center for annual maintenance. Maintains all equipment, tools, and machinery required for the operation and is responsible for requesting or ordering materials and repair parts needed to accomplish assignments. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
