Job Description

SUMMARYThe Attorney assists in providing counsel and guidance regarding legal matters of the Company to ensure maximum protection of its legal rights and to maintain its operations within state and federal regulations.EDUCATION•    Juris Doctor degree and membership in at least one state bar association (Required)EXPERIENCE•    Associate – Experience not required•    Generalist – 2 years of legal experience in a corporation or law firm (Preferred)•    Senior - 5 years of legal experience in a corporation or law firm (Preferred)•    Staff - 8 years of legal experience in a corporation or law firm (Preferred)LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS•    NoneESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES•    Provide legal counsel and guidance to corporate personnel in various activities to protect the corporation's interests from a legal perspective and prevent legal disputes from occurring.•    Ensure corporate compliance with all relevant federal, state and local laws, regulations and ordinances.•    Assist Chief Legal Officer in the management of outside counsel hired to obtain legal opinions or handle claims and litigation.•    Prepare and/or review existing and intended contracts, leases, formal agreements, and other legal instruments to safeguard the corporation's interests.•    Assist in research, review, analysis, drafting and approval of various documents, policies, procedures and obligations to which the company is or may become a party.•    Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the law in areas of special interest to the company.•    Conform with all company policies and procedures.SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS•    Broad knowledge of a wide variety of legal standards.•    Knowledge of administrative and judicial procedures and the rules of evidence.•    Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials and practices of legal research.•    Understanding of various legal research software and word processing software packages (e.g. Lexis, Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat).•    Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with corporate personnel, contractors, consulting attorneys, court officials, regulatory agencies, and the public.•    Analytical ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.•    Excellent communication skills.•    Excellent organizational skills.•    Must be able to work independently and manage heavy workload in a high-pressure environment.•    Ability to express facts and ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.•    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex legal documents to protect the corporation's interest.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES•    Accept Outage position.•    Accept ERO position and be able to meet the response requirements.•    Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access if needed. •    Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS•    Environmental and physical requirements are subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up to 30 lbs; ascending/descending stairs; sitting for extended periods of time; and spending considerable time in front of computer monitors.WORKING CONDITIONS•    Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.•    Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.•    Travel may be required.•    May be required to carry a phone.WORK LOCATION •    Hybrid/Remote – Due to the nature of the work, this position provides the ability for a hybrid work schedule between Site and an alternate work location. Alternate work locations require adequate technology, and a solid ergonomic setup is present. Note: Work schedules are contingent on business need. Posting closes - April 9, 2026
