Litigation Manager, Property & Casualty

We are seeking an experienced Property & Casualty (P&C) Litigation Manager to oversee our Third-Party Administrator (TPA). You will manage outside defense counsel, drive litigation strategies, and ensure TPAs adhere to strict claim-handling guidelines. Your main goal is to mitigate financial risk and optimize legal spend across commercial and personal lines.

Key Responsibilities
TPA Oversight & Governance
• Monitor TPA compliance with corporate guidelines.
• Conduct regular file reviews and consult with TPA claims staff for reserve accuracy.
• Evaluate TPA performance using key metrics.
• Authorize settlement values above TPA authority levels.

Litigation Management
• Direct defense strategies for complex P&C claims.
• Review and approve budgets for outside counsel.
• Evaluate liability, causation, and damages exposure.
• Attend high-exposure mediations and trials virtually or in-person.

Operational Strategy
• Analyze litigation trends to reduce legal spend.
• Develop best practices for TPA data reporting.
• Collaborate with internal risk management and underwriting teams.
