SUMMARYResponsible for advising Alliant's employee benefits business group on a broad range of legal issues and reviewing a variety of contracts and other forms, in addition to other licensing and legal matters.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReviews, drafts, and negotiates a variety of agreements, including master services agreements, vendor agreements, independent contractor agreements, data privacy agreements, confidentiality agreements, referral agreements, business associate agreements, and other commercial transactional agreements.Provides business-centric and practical advice on legal issues and risks to stakeholders and leadership.Collaborates with business units to understand key commercial requirements in contracts and legal projects.Builds business relationships with, and gains the trust of, internal clients and stakeholders.Partners with cross-functional corporate teams, including IT, risk management, accounting, sales, operations, marketing, and human resources, on contract review, legal compliance, and company policies.Advises Alliant corporate departments and business groups on privacy and security laws and regulations and related industry standards that impact Alliant, including coordinating and synthesizing advice from external counsel as needed.Reviews, updates, and maintains internal legal policies, processes, playbooks, checklists, self-service tools, trainings, and templates. Performs all duties in accordance with all company policies and procedures, and all federal, state, and local laws wherein the Company operates.Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION / EXPERIENCEJuris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school is requiredMember in good standing of at least one State Bar or the District of Columbia State Bar is requiredTwo (2) or more years of related work experienceExperience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contractsTwo (2) or more years of experience drafting and negotiating contracts (preference for experience with complex commercial agreements, data privacy agreements, go-to-market agreements, or enterprise technology agreements) Experience in privacy and data protection laws and regulations (including U.S. State and federal consumer protection and privacy laws, GDPR, and other privacy laws) and best practices.Experience providing creative, business-friendly solutions to solve issues as part of complex negotiations.Experience in another applicable specialist area of law (healthcare, SEC regulatory, insurance, or data privacy)SKILLSSkilled in implementing legal processes and translating legal advice into actionable guidance for business teamsStrong issue spotting skills: proven ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues quickly and independentlyOutstanding legal and business judgment, capable of making decisions in ambiguous situations.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAdvanced analytical, problem-solving, and time management skillsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to establish good professional relationships with internal clients, management, and legal colleaguesExcellent planning, organizational, and prioritization skills, including ability to multitask on multiple high-priority projectsProficient in Microsoft Office products and ability to learn contract management software#LI-DR2 #LI-REMOTE
