Job Description
The Sisters of Charity Health System is recruiting for a full-time Paralegal/Administrative Assistant. This role provides administrative, organizational and paralegal services to support the legal department, with responsibility to the General Counsel. Takes the lead role in facilitating continued development and maintaining an accurate and up to date electronic database contract management system housing all contracts and legal documents that have an impact on the operations of the Sisters of Charity Health System. Supports the legal, claims, supply chain, and System-wide functions that originate, negotiate, and utilize contracts. Ensures that users of the contract management system are trained on its use and effectiveness and that the contract management system is used effectively and efficiently to benefit the Sisters of Charity Health System.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative, organizational and paralegal services to support the legal department, with responsibility to the General Counsel.
- Manages all administrative functions including, but not limited to: coordinating meetings and travel arrangements, ordering and maintaining supplies, and maintaining records and files.
- Knowledge of contract management database administration and structures, and the ability to assume responsibility for daily activities and projects without direct supervision.
- Other support to the Claims and Litigation section of the Legal Department will include the following:
- Legal administrative support and attendance for trials, depositions, mediations, etc. as needed
- Prepare case briefs and summarize depositions, interrogatories and testimony as needed
- Conduct investigations and statistical/documentary research as needed
- Locate and develop case relevant information as needed
- Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence as needed
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree with five years' progressive experience performing duties relevant to the position within a legal department.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to utilize technology to support the functioning of the office (webinars, Zoom meetings, etc.)
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team; have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, have strong organizational skills and be detail oriented.
