Description
The primary purpose of your job position is to support attorneys in the Enforcement Department of ReliabilityFirst Corporation. Under the supervision of a licensed attorney, you will create work product related to regulatory compliance enforcement of NERC Reliability Standards and in-house matters such as nondisclosure agreements, vendor contract review, or employment law questions.
- Drafting and review of legal documents, including formal notice documents to the Registered Entities regarding enforcement actions, settlement agreements, internal legal memorandums and policy documents.
- Support Compliance Staff in reviews/audits/investigations of ReliabilityFirst entities where legal consult or intervention may be appropriate.
- Prepare documents at all stages of the enforcement process.
- Gather facts and evidence related to compliance enforcement cases. Synthesize technical documents and legal concepts to develop a case and identify the appropriate penalty/sanctions relative to enforcement actions.
- Ensure enforcement actions adhere to and respect all due process protections of the registered entity from violation identification to final violation resolution.
- Support effective representation at regional hearing proceedings (or other hearing-related activities).
- Research relevant FERC Orders and NERC Bulletins.
- Provide legal assessment and analysis in support of the Enforcement decision making process, including, but not limited to, providing sound recommendations.
- Provide legal research and analysis into legal issues, including matters of first impression and internal legal questions, confronting ReliabilityFirst.
- Other duties as assigned.
Educational/Experience Requirements
- 2L Juris Doctor candidate at an accredited law school.
- 3.0 minimum gpa required
- Class ranking in top 50% preferred.
- Knowledge of administrative law preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office.
- $25/hour
