Primary Function
Serve as support to the Assistant State's Attorneys assigned to the Child Support Enforcement court rooms that are located throughout Cook County.
Physical Requirements:
Medium Work: The position requires the ability to stand or walk frequently, often for extended periods. You may need to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds regularly, and occasionally heavier items. The job may also involve a significant amount of walking or standing relative to sedentary roles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- File cases for the office electronically with Clerk of the Circuit Court
- Prepare documents to be filed electronically
- Act as a liaison between the SAO & Sheriff's office
- Answer and forward calls / inquires within the division
- Maintain Docketing statistics.
- Assist with Child Support Outreach initiatives throughout the community
- Assist with the office email account when needed
- Act as backup for Administrative Assistants within the Division
- Works directly with the Case Processing unit with the initiation of cases
- Assist in maintaining the Child Support SharePoint Site
- Assist with Child Support Service Division assignments / projects
- Scan and prepare digital documents to be saved in digital case folders
- Maintain various database systems
- Interact regularly with State's Attorney's Office employees
- Maintains confidentiality of information
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
Required:
- The candidate must have the ability to multi-task and possess excellent grammar, organizational and communication skills; written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel.
- The candidate must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with highly sensitive information.
- The candidate must be able to work independently and travel to the outlying districts when needed.
- The candidate must be able to lift more than 10 lbs.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of CARES and Cook County Clerk's system preferred.
- Typing Speed of 50+wpm.
