Immediate need for a full-time Paralegal to work for a well-established law office in Presque Isle. Excellent daytime schedule and benefits; health insurance, retirement account, paid vacation and holidays. Full-Time/Days; 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime available as needed. $20.00 - $23.00/hr., depending on experience.
The Paralegal will provide clerical and research support services for the office’s attorneys. Employee will organize files, collect and review case materials, draft and proofread legal documents, and help prepare for hearings, trials, and other proceedings. Previous litigation experience with Maine District Court and Superior Court required. Background in criminal and civil litigation highly valued.

Responsibilities:
- Meet with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned or prospective cases and projects.
- Review and organize legal documents, case files, and notes.
- Research laws, regulations, and legal articles relevant to client cases.
- Collect and organize evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, and other case materials.
- Draft legal documents, contracts, confirmation letters, motions, and discovery requests.
- File legal documents with courts, government agencies, or opposing counsel.
- Record transcriptions and take notes at trials and hearings.
- Maintain records of billable hours spent on each case.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma and paralegal certificate required.
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies preferred.
- Previous litigation experience with Maine District Court and Superior Court litigation proceedings required.
