Our law firm is currently seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Legal Assistant. The Legal Assistant will work closely with an attorney and paralegal/manager to support the daily operations of the law office, including providing comprehensive administrative and litigation support while ensuring compliance with client requirements and court procedures.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume legal environment.
We are seeking a candidate who can efficiently manage a large caseload, quickly become proficient with our case management and database systems, proactively assist the Litigation Attorney in anticipating case needs, and collaborate effectively with colleagues to resolve issues.
Job Duties (include but are not limited to)
- Provide litigation support to the assigned attorney on collection and replevin matters
- Draft, review, and prepare legal documents including routine pleadings, motions, and correspondence
- E-file pleadings and court documents through the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal in compliance with court rules and procedures
- Schedule hearings and coordinate with court personnel, opposing counsel, and judicial assistants to secure hearing dates
- Maintain and manage the attorney’s litigation calendar, including tracking deadlines, hearings, and court appearances
- Monitor case dockets and ensure all filings and deadlines are met in accordance with court requirements
- Process incoming and outgoing mail related to assigned files
- Maintain organized electronic and physical case files
- Communicate with courts, clients, and opposing counsel regarding case status and scheduling matters
