Job Description
Our client is seeking a passionate and dedicated Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to learning, a concern for the community, and a personal entrepreneurial spirit. Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in immigration court and handle immigration family practice cases.
- Assist with criminal defense cases, particularly those linked to immigration issues.
- Conduct legal research, draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Participate in client consultations and case evaluations.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies.
- Maintain case files and ensure all documentation is up-to-date.
- Stay current with changes in immigration and criminal law.
Qualifications
- Admission to the Michigan Bar.
- 0-5 years of experience in immigration or criminal law.
- Strong academic credentials.
- History of moot court or mock trial participation is highly desirable.
- Experience with law review/journal or significant volunteer or professional experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to learning and community involvement.
- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Fluency in another language is a plus but is not required.
