We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and proactive Legal Assistant to join our dynamic Legal & Compliance team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting our legal operations by managing complex tasks, ensuring compliance, and assisting attorneys with a variety of legal, notarial, and administrative responsibilities. Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys and the Legal & Compliance team, including calendaring, scheduling appointments, and drafting correspondence.
  • Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, contracts, and agreements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to organizational and legal standards.
  • Conduct legal research and compile data from various sources to assist in legal proceedings and compliance initiatives.
  • Maintain and organize confidential records, files, and documentation in both digital and physical formats.
  • Assist in managing compliance requirements, monitoring regulatory changes, and maintaining up-to-date filings.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders as needed to facilitate efficient communication and document submission.
  • Utilize legal databases and software for case management, document retrieval, and tracking tasks and deadlines.
  • Provide notarial services, including notarizing legal documents, affidavits, and other required materials.
  • Uphold confidentiality and demonstrate ethical judgment in all dealings.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or in a similar role in Legal & Compliance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools, case management software, and office technology (e.g., MS Office Suite).
  • Familiarity with legal terminology, processes, and compliance standards in applicable jurisdictions.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a track record of handling several tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Commitment to upholding principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in a professional setting.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Certification, or equivalent education/experience preferred.
Day-to-day
  • Draft and manage legal correspondence, reports, and presentations.
  • Support attorneys in filing legal documents with courts and other relevant governmental entities.
  • Review legal forms and agreements for completeness and compliance prior to submission.
  • Maintain the team's calendar, ensuring that all deadlines are met and meetings are scheduled effectively.
  • Research state and federal laws and regulations to provide preliminary insights for legal team projects.
  • Handle inquiries from internal teams, ensuring timely and clear communication related to legal processes.
  • Provide notarial services as required, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Contribute to team discussions, brainstorming legal strategies and ways to improve compliance workflows.
