Location: Wilmington, NC | Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM | Full-Time, Exempt

Speaks Law Firm is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Negotiations Case Manager to join our team. In this client-focused support role, you’ll manage cases through the demand, negotiation, and settlement phases, ensuring the best outcome for our clients.

Responsibilities
Demand & Negotiation Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during demand, negotiation, and settlement phases, providing frequent case updates and answering questions.
 - Prepare, review, and update balance checks for all active files.
 - Secure updated lien and provider information, excluding Medicare/Medicaid.
 - Maintain accurate documentation in Needles/Neos case management software.
 - Draft initial settlement statements, document all offers, and process reduction requests as authorized.
 - Follow up on outstanding documentation (medical bills/records, Rule 414 info, lost wage docs, opinion letters).
 - Coordinate scheduling of calls, meetings, and settlement conferences.
 - Maintain active communication with insurance adjusters, defense counsel, subrogation vendors, and lien holders.
 
- Ensure timely receipt and processing of settlement checks, releases, and supporting documents.
 - Prepare and finalize closing documents and disbursement paperwork.
 - Conduct client disbursement appointments (in-person) and review settlement details.
 
- Review and update case notes, track deadlines, and ensure all outstanding items are managed effectively.
 - Collaborate with attorneys, negotiators, and administrative staff to move cases efficiently toward resolution.
 - Quickly escalate concerns or delays to the supervising attorney or negotiator.
 
Required:
- 3+ years of legal experience in personal injury case management.
 - Familiarity with lien resolution, Rule 414, and medical billing/reductions.
 - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
 - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software.
 - Ability to manage a high volume of active cases in a deadline-driven environment.
 - Professionalism, empathy, and client service orientation.
 
- Paralegal certificate.
 - Experience with Needles/Neos software.
