Job Description

McMichael & Gray PC – FLORIDA
Florida Title Agent
The Title is responsible for overseeing the title review and title insurance process from the receipt of contract through disbursement of escrow and recording.  They work with the closing team at McMichael & Gray to ensure all real estate closing files have necessary information to issue title insurance in a timely and compliant manner.  Must have a Florida title license and be located in Florida for position.
 
Responsibilities and Duties Include:
  • Complies with and enforces federal, state, and local regulations that govern real estate title and settlement
  • Follow ALTA Best Practices and company procedures
  • Communicate and answer questions from parties to closing - builder client, lender, agents, and buyers/borrowers – regarding title issues 
  • Complete or supervise completion of all workflow tasks of closing transaction related to title insurance for each file, including following terms of contract, clearing title, preparing necessary title curative documents
  • Review documents received by company throughout title process including, but not limited to contracts, HOA estoppel letters, title reports, commitments, surveys, legal descriptions, loan documents
  • Interact with title insurance companies and company regarding title issues and handle title curative matters in conformity with local standards and underwriting guidelines
  • Understanding of company software used to create title documents and communicate workflow with clients and team
  • Maintain current applicable state title license and any other applicable surety/fidelity bonds and licensing as required by state law to serve as a title agent for the company
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned relevant to issue title insurance as outlined above
