Position: Tax General Counsel

Position Overview:
As the Tax General Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal counsel and guidance on all tax-related matters for one of Northwest Talent Solutions' large financial services clients. You will work closely with the executive team to ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations, as well as develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax planning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel and guidance on all tax-related matters for the company
- Monitor and analyze tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities
- Review and advise on tax implications of business decisions and transactions
- Oversee tax audits and manage relationships with tax authorities
- Collaborate with external tax advisors and consultants as needed
- Advise on international tax matters, including transfer pricing and cross-border transactions
- Keep abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate updates to the executive team
- Develop and maintain tax policies and procedures for the company
- Provide training and support to internal teams on tax-related matters
- Handle any tax-related disputes or legal proceedings
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in tax law and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in the state of residence
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in tax law, with a focus on corporate tax
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations
- Experience with tax planning and compliance for a large organization
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
