Job Description

The Viera Company (TVC) has a current opening for an Associate Counsel, Real Estate.  This onsite role will provide legal services, support and advice to The Viera Company on all legal matters along with TVC’s affiliates.  Job duties include but are not limited to:

 

  • Provide legal services to support TVC and its affiliates, including drafting contracts and agreements, handling land transactions and development matters, reviewing vendor contracts, and assisting with buyer contracts, warranty issues, and litigation
  • Collaborate with TVC’s Land Development Department on land matters, liaising with Brevard County, regulatory agencies, and utilities, while managing easement and service agreements
  • Provide legal counsel to management on company activities, marketing, and risk management, including preparing agreements and reviewing contracts with third party vendors
  • Advise the TVC SVP of Community Management and Communications on HOA administration, operations for Addison Village Club, and preparing estoppel certificates for builder sales
  • Manage outside legal counsel providing legal services to TVC and its affiliates with direction on priorities set by Senior Counsel and TVC President
  • Provide legal services to TVC and Duda in connection with their respective interactions with the Viera Stewardship District
  • Undertake special projects as assigned by TVC's Senior Counsel and TVC President

 

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.)
  • Admission to the Florida Bar and in good standing
  • 5+ years in real property law, land use law, environmental law, or corporate law with an emphasis on real property law
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse audiences
  • Proficient in analyzing complex issues and providing effective solutions through strong problem-solving skills
