Job Description

The Grants Agreement Officer I is responsible for providing knowledge in foundation award and subaward agreements, federal grant subawards, federal contracts, and confidentiality agreements to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This role will work under the guidance of the Assistant Director, Grants and Contracts, Sponsored Agreements, and/or the Senior Sponsored Programs Officer, Sponsored Agreements, within the Office of Grants and Contracts, to (1) review and interpret complex requirements with internal collaborators in the terms and conditions of incoming foundation award and subaward agreements, federal grant subawards, federal contracts, and confidentiality agreements for clinical and non-clinical research, (2) prepare and negotiate federal and foundation subaward agreements with external institutions for clinical and non-clinical Dana-Farber research projects, (3) identify regulatory compliance, legal, intellectual property, and other risks in the foregoing types of agreements, and (4) mitigate those risks through drafting, editing, and negotiating such agreements, using legal knowledge and creative problem solving to ensure compliance with the Institute, sponsor policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.The Grants Agreement Officer I will liaise with Philanthropy, Clinical Trials Agreements Office (CTAO), Office for Innovations, Office of General Counsel, Investigators and Department staff, and other functional units as necessary in the resolution of issues in both incoming and outgoing agreements. This role will do this in a timely manner and in conformance with Dana-Farber standards of practice, requirements, and obligations, making sure that resolutions assure continued compliance with sponsor and Institute guidelines. This role will ensure the Institute stays up to date on federal and state regulations and applicable Institute policies as they relate to clinical and non-clinical research funded by foundation award agreements, foundation subaward agreements, federal grant subawards, and federal contracts. The Grants Agreements Officer I will serve as a primary contact for departments, investigators, and sponsors regarding the agreements for which this role is responsible. This role will act both independently and as an effective and collaborative member of a dynamic team to achieve the goals of the Office of Grants and Contracts and the Institute.

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.

For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
