Surety & Construction Litigation Associate
Location: New York, NY or Uniondale, NY (Hybrid)
Company Overview
A well-established and growing law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its expanding Surety & Construction practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career attorney to gain hands-on experience handling complex construction disputes, bond claims, and commercial litigation matters while working alongside experienced attorneys in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in construction and surety-related litigation and dispute resolution
- Assist with drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
- Support matters involving payment and performance bond claims and construction contract disputes
- Participate in depositions, court appearances, and case strategy discussions
- Conduct legal research and assist with risk analysis and case preparation
- Help manage case deadlines and litigation workflow
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New York Bar (New Jersey admission is a plus)
- Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience
- Interest in construction law, surety matters, and commercial disputes
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $120,000 – $175,000 (based on experience)
- Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, 401(k), and paid time off
- Hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 remote)
