The Legal Technology Specialist supports the adoption and effective use of legal technology tools across the firm. Working under the direction of the Legal Technology Supervisor within the Center of Excellence (“CoE”), this role is responsible for assisting with user onboarding, providing hands-on training, supporting basic customizations, and promoting day-to-day usage of legal technology products. The specialist will work directly with lawyers and business professionals to ensure that tools are aligned with user needs and embedded into practice workflows. 



Responsibilities

Knowledge Management Systems

  • Implement procedures for capturing, filtering, storing, accessing and disseminating materials and information, including model forms and precedents
  • Design and manage practice area knowledge portals (SharePoint) to ensure they provide an up-to-date repository of group knowledge and resources
  • Work with the Innovation and Practice Solutions group and KM Lawyers/Practice Support Lawyers (PSLs) to support a strategic approach to our KM systems
  • Provide 1:1 training on the Firm’s KM systems and relevant practice technology to new lawyers

Practice Technology and Innovation

  • Provide day-to-day management of the practice technology utilized by practitioners, including but not limited to, contract analysis software, document automation, e-signature software, client collaboration tools and transaction management solutions
  • Design and build customized collaboration portals and document automation products
  • Work with the CoE Managers to deliver tailored technology training and learning resources to lawyers and Business Services staff
  • Work with lawyers and practice management to drive ongoing user adoption of practice technologies and provide 1:1 user support.
  • Assist the Innovation team and CoE team on projects and initiatives as needed.

Administrative Support

  • Design quality assurance workflows to oversee accuracy of updates to collaboration portals and client-facing applications
  • Conduct usage audits for Innovation owned products to identify inactive projects and/or users for archival or removal.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience, preferably in a client services business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and technical proficiency in adopting and implementing new technology.
  • Experience with collaboration software applications such as HighQ, Legatics, SmartSheet, or SharePoint preferred.
  • Experience with generative AI or machine learning based legal software such as Harvey, DeepL, CoPilot, ChatGPT and Kira a plus (but not required)
  • Experience with document automation software such as PatternBuilder, Office & Dragons, Neota, Contract Express, or HotDocs is strongly recommended
  • Self-starter, extremely organized and detailed-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities effectively
  • Consistent application of excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Absolute discretion when dealing with confidential matters
  • Exceptional follow-up and follow-through skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with client service orientation

This position will require physical presence in Proskauer’s offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm or as business needs require). The anticipated compensation for this position is $80,000 - $100,000.  The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
