Job Description

As a Senior Manager on Accenture’s employment law team, you will play a pivotal role at the center of some of the company’s most dynamic and fast evolving business areas. This is a highly impactful employment counseling position supporting a number of Accenture’s business operating groups along with its labor relations (NLRA) legal advice needs.

In this role, you will partner closely with leadership, HR, Employee Relations, and business teams to navigate high impact employment law issues arising in complex operational environments where workforce models, client needs, and business strategies move quickly. You’ll bring clarity to complex people decisions, support innovative workforce models, and help shape the policies and practices that guide thousands of employees across multiple jurisdictions.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys fast paced, intellectually challenging work; thrives in a matrixed environment; has specific and meaningful experience counseling companies regarding labor relations (NLRA) issues and wants to influence the legal and operational strategy of some of Accenture’s most unique, high growth, and high visibility businesses. You’ll leverage your legal expertise to deliver crisp, practical guidance on everything from hiring and performance to investigations, restructuring, and labor relations — helping Accenture work smarter, operate compliantly, and support its people with confidence.

Reporting into the U.S. Employment Law Lead, this is an exciting opportunity to work directly with key stakeholders across a workload that is both interesting and varied:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, HR, and Employee Relations on key employment decisions and people related risks in a fast paced, matrixed environment.

  • Provide legal guidance on U.S. employment laws, including Title VII, NLRA, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, background check laws, WARN, and related federal, state, and local requirements.

  • Provide counsel on important personnel matters such as hiring, performance management, employee discipline, accommodations, and separations, ensuring decisions are grounded in sound legal analysis and consistently applied policies.

  • Advise on labor relations and NLRA matters, including NLRB precedent, collective bargaining, interpretation and administration of collective bargaining agreements, grievance arbitration, and proceedings before the NLRB.

  • Partner with internal litigation teams and outside counsel on employment litigation by assessing legal risk and providing employment law subject matter expertise.

  • Support business and client facing teams on employment law issues arising in client engagements, workforce transitions, and deal related activities, including risk assessment and practical mitigation strategies.

  • Advise on workplace investigations, employee separations, restrictive covenants, and protection of proprietary and client information.

  • Advise on workforce restructuring and reductions-in-force, ensuring compliance with applicable legal requirements across jurisdictions, including state and federal WARN issues

  • Review, revise, and develop internal company policies to ensure they align with business needs, support HR/ER strategies, and remain compliant with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

  • Monitor and translate evolving employment law and labor developments into clear, practical guidance for the business, and develop and deliver training to HR, Employee Relations, and business leaders to ensure consistent, compliant practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor and licensed to practice in a least one US jurisdiction

  • Minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience within an Employment Law team, in private practice and/or in an in-house environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

  • Enthusiasm for continuous learning

  • Able to present innovative, original solutions which understand our business, and to act as a strategic thinker

  • Leader as well as team player, collaborative, and persuasive; able to work well with a wide range of personnel, across many roles and levels

  • Understand the value of diversity and recognize the strengths that unique styles, innovative perspectives and experiences bring to Accenture

  • Strong time management, prioritization, and project management skills

  • Build trust-based relationships – through interpersonal skills and by delivering on commitments
