Job Description

The Attorney General's Office Criminal Division/Health Care Fraud and Abuse Section is seeking an unpaid paralegal intern. The Health Care Fraud and Abuse Section investigates and prosecutes health care fraud crimes that impact the State’s Medicaid program known as AHCCCS.

Duties

Under the supervision of the Assistant Attorney General, the paralegal intern will prepare a variety of correspondence, pleadings, motions, petitions, briefs, and legal forms. The intern will assist with preparation of discovery documents and submit documentation and pleadings with the court. The intern will be knowledgeable in Adobe, as well as Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Word and Excel. Internship positions at the Attorney General's Office (AGO) are designed to give participants exposure to the AGO work environment, including opportunities to observe and assist in legal proceedings.

Qualifications

This internship is offered to students currently enrolled in or recently completed a Paralegal Studies Program (or other related studies) with a minimum cumulative G.P.A of 2.75.

This is an unpaid internship.

Hours: 10-20 hours per week. Hours will fall between 8:00AM-5:00PM, Monday through Friday, depending on the intern’s availability

Internship Period: Summer 2026, possibly through Fall 2026
