Reports To: Vice President of Corporate Counsel and Legal

Location: Chicago, IL

Purpose of Your Work:

As an Assistant Corporate Counsel, with our shared services group, you will use your legal expertise to draft and review commercial contracts for both customers and vendors. You will analyze and interpret commercial agreements to assess risks and provide strategic advice to various leaders and colleagues within the organization.

How You Make a Difference Everyday:

  • Contract review for Redwood business units, including various commercial agreements such as nondisclosure agreements, brokerage agreements, master service agreements for vendors, codes of conduct, marketing documents, and other contracts related to the organization as a whole
  • Identify potential risks associated with contracts under review
  • Focus on the continual improvement in the quality, and simplicity of the contract management processes, without compromising compliance and quality, including assisting on implementation and optimization of our contract life-cycle management software (CLM)
  • Other legal projects as assigned.

Youve Got This?

  • JD required
  • Minimum - 2 years of work experience supporting the legal function in a mid to large size organization or law firm
  • Preferred - 3 to 4 years at a law firm or in-house experience
  • Preferred - experience or interest in data security and data privacy issues
  • Preferred - experience with using a CLM or implementation and integration of CLM
  • Strong organization, communication, negotiation, analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing assignments in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Work Schedule:

This position is full-time and remote Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with an hour break, but flexibility is available based on coverage.

Compensation Range:

Salary Range:

$75,000 - $90,000

This position is eligible to earn annual incentives based on individual and company performance.

The estimated pay range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the geographical location in which the applicant lives and/or which they will be performing the job.
