Our orientation will provide our summer interns with exposure and engagement to our various corporate functions and departments, as well as professional development training to enhance the summer internship experience.

2024 Conifer Intern's Testimonial Stream
Overview
Assist and provide support to Legal Team during the internship period to gain knowledge and experience in the affordable housing industry. Position may be remote or in Rochester, NY.
Responsibilities
- Undertake research projects in affordable housing related issues, entailing review of entity organizational documents, loan documents library and internet research (e.g., consents to transfer partner interests and refinance real estate developments, guaranty and pledge prohibitions, real estate broker licensing requirements).
- Assist in reviewing and drafting partner assignment documents, corporate resolutions, easements and related documents.
- As a learning experience, it is expected that the legal intern may:
- attend pre-closing and post-closing meetings
- attend a quarterly insurance claim review meeting
- assist with reviewing title and survey documentation
- assist with compiling closing documents
- Other legal projects and duties as assigned
Education
- Currently enrolled in Law School, preferably with some clinic experience, with an interest in affordable housing, real estate development.
Experience
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make presentations of research, projects as assigned.
- Ability to read, interpret and comprehend detailed legal documents and regulations.
- Proficient MS Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook).
- Strong internet and library research skills with ability to meet project deadlines as assigned.

The hourly range for this position is $18.00 for an Undergraduate Candidate and $22.00-25.00 for a Graduate Candidate The actual compensation may vary depending on a wide range of factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, location, etc. This range also does not include additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
