Job Description

Summary:
Offit Kurman, a growing AmLaw 200 firm, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Estates and Trusts practice group in Tysons Corner. This role will provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to a team consisting of two Principals and one Associate, contributing to the team's efficiency and client service excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex calendars, including scheduling meetings, teleconferences, court dates, and networking events.

  • Prepare, draft, and revise a variety of legal documents, correspondence, and memos.

  • Assist with the new client and matter intake process, ensuring accurate and timely submission of forms and documentation.

  • Organize, maintain, and close both paper and electronic client files and pleading binders.

  • File legal documents with courts and agencies under attorney supervision.

  • Communicate extensively with clients, both verbally and in writing, delivering a high level of professionalism and responsiveness.

  • Complete and track attorney expense reports, reimbursements, and credit card reconciliations.

  • Perform additional administrative tasks as needed to support the attorneys and the office.

Requirements:

  • Proactive and independent work style with excellent organizational and analytical skills.

  • High level of accuracy and efficiency in document production, formatting, data entry, and proofreading.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with attention to grammar and detail.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a client-service mindset, with the ability to build effective working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting attorneys in Estates and Trusts or a related practice area.

  • Familiarity with InTapp, NetDocs, or comparable legal applications/document management systems.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and legal administrative experience.

  • A minimum of 3 years of legal administrative support experience in a law firm or professional services environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort with legal research tools and time-entry software.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • This position involves prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs.

  • Standard office environment with a moderate noise level.
