This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Pay and Personnel Center (PPC) located in Topeka, KS.
Duties As a Supervisory Attorney-Advisor (Military), you will as a Supervisor to the PPC Legal Office Staff and provide legal advice and support to the Pay and Personnel Center (PPC) Commanding Officer, Executive Director, and staff regarding military compensation, fiscal law and disbursements, administrative law, and labor law. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Providing legal advice, supervising, and executing the legal services needed to support the Pay and Personnel Center. Advising on legal aspects of disbursing and collecting systems for the payment of compensation to Coast Guard military personnel, retirees, and annuitants, world-wide. Proposing or reviewing proposals for new legislation or new regulations and evaluating proposals to determine the impact on Pay and Personnel Center (PPC) and Coast Guard processes and procedures. Reviewing and rendering advice and opinions on the interpretation and application of statutes, executive orders, federal and state court decisions, and rulings of state and federal agencies, Comptroller General and Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals, on military compensation, personnel policies, and payee impact. Salary- $126,563 - $164,531/year
