JMM is seeking a Tax, Trusts & Estates Legal Assistant for the Los Angeles office. The successful candidate will have superior organizational skills and the ability to balance competing priorities, along with a keen attention to detail and excellent communication abilities. A high degree of professionalism, ability to work independently and ability to work as a member of a dynamic tax, trusts and estate planning team are also desired skills.



Essential Duties

  • Harness your communication skills to provide administrative support to tax, trusts and estate planning attorneys preparing correspondence and legal documents while maintaining client contact by phone and correspondence about estate plans.
  • Draw on your industry expertise to prepare, revise, proofread and redline transactional documents, as well as create and transmit correspondence to clients and various government agencies.
  • Apply your organizational skills to organize and prepare estate planning binders, manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings and arrange travel.
  • Employ your attention to detail to track certified mailings and overnight deliveries, prepare new client/matter intake packages and transcribe voice recordings.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and Finance to review and process vendor payments and attorney expense reports.
  • Engage with peers and other administrative teams to assist with overflow work and miscellaneous other tasks as needed.



Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in tax, trusts and estate planning or administration.
  • Paralegal certificate from ABA approved program a plus.

 

Position: Non-Exempt

Location: Century City. 5 days onsite for the first 30-days, then 4 days per week onsite, 1 day remote thereafter.

Salary: $85k - $105k base
