Junior Associate - Commercial Transactions (High-Tech)

Practice Area: Technology Transactions – Commercial & Intellectual Property

Location: Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Boston, MA (other firm offices considered)

Schedule: Hybrid – At least 3 days onsite per week; Full-Time, Standard Billable Requirements Apply

Description:

This role is designed for associates with 2–3 years of experience in either technology transactions or corporate transactional work who are eager to develop a niche in enterprise tech deals. You’ll work alongside seasoned attorneys drafting and negotiating agreements in software licensing, outsourcing, ERP implementations, and cloud-based services. The position welcomes candidates transitioning from M&A, finance, or IP licensing, offering robust training and mentoring to support the shift. It’s a strong launchpad into a high-demand specialty with growth across venture-backed companies, cross-border deals, and AI-driven innovations.


Core and Preferred Skills

  • 2–3 years’ experience in tech transactions or corporate transactional law
  • Comfort with contract negotiation and review in IP and tech contexts
  • Working knowledge of data privacy and licensing frameworks
  • Admission to the relative state bar in which the candidate resides
  • Strong communication skills and attention to legal nuance
  • Capable of managing overlapping client demands with minimal oversight
  • Interest in artificial intelligence or emerging technologies is a plus
  • Willingness to work in-person at least three days per week
